  • An adaptation of translated content to achieve the perfect pitch for your target audience.

  • A mentoring or tutoring programme for newly established freelancers.

What languages do you work with?

I regularly work from English, French and Spanish to Italian. However, I also accept assignments from Italian to English, French and Spanish as I regularly and actively co-operate with a group of trusted English, French and Spanish colleagues.

How do I contact you to tell you about my project and ask for a free quote?

You can contact me directly at d.rossetti@traduzioni-tecniche.it to discuss your requirements or you can fill this form and attach the content that you wish to have translated, revised or adapted. I will reply within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can call me at +39-330-880873 during office hours (GMT+1). I would love to hear from you and see how I can help you meet your needs.

Does my quote have a deadline?

My quotes are valid for 3 months from the date of issue. If your quote has expired, please contact me to re-negotiate.

Can we meet in person?

If your office is in Rome, Italy, I will be happy to visit your location to discuss how to successfully approach your project.

Why should you choose me?

I have been working in this industry since 1989, after completing my academic studies as an Interpreter and Translator and my BA in Foreign Languages and Literature. Most of my clients have been using my services for over 20 years. Here you can find a list of some of my current clients. Over the years, besides gaining a lot of experience in the niche areas of my specialities, I have developed a workflow method, which allows me to provide an impeccable service. Whenever a quality control is necessary, I avail myself of the support of a trusted team of colleagues with the necessary language combinations and specializations to double check the project concerned.

When and how can I pay?

Upon completion and delivery, I will issue an invoice for my services, which you can pay by bank transfer, credit card or PayPal. My invoice will state the amount quoted, without any VAT or other taxes, as per my tax regime, and a 4% compensation for social security contribution, pursuant to Law 662/96 art. 1 c. 212.

2. Translation

What are your areas of expertise?

  • 4.0 manufacturing industries
  • Multidisciplinary engineering and plant building
  • Finance and Asset Management

Do you work only B2B or also B2C?

My clients are both companies and individuals. All are welcome!

Do you accept small assignments?

Yes, I also accept very small jobs. For regular customers, I keep the outstanding amounts on hold and issue a single cumulative monthly invoice. For one-off clients, I apply a basic 1-hour rate.

Do you create glossaries?

My CAT software allows me to create a customised glossary to guarantee terminology and style compliance over time for each of my regular customers.
I regularly submit each client’s custom glossaries for revision and approval.

What file types do you accept?

I accept any file format without distinction. Formats that can be overwritten will be returned exactly as the original. Formats that cannot be overwritten will be translated in a separate Word file, taking account of page breaks.

In addition to the text to be translated, what other information should I give you?

It is always helpful to know why you need the document to be translated, what is your expected audience, if you already have a glossary or reference material to consult and of course if it is urgent or not.

How much does a translation cost?

I apply a source text rate per word, which varies depending on language combination, text type, size, length and delivery date. In general, my rate may vary between EUR 0.08 and 0.14 per source word.
If you give me more information about your project and send me the document concerned, I can prepare an accurate quote including costs and delivery deadline.

What is the general delivery turnaround?

I translate approximately 2,000 words per day. To give you an example, if your document is 12,000 words, it would take me 6-7 working days from the date of your written confirmation of my quotation, providing I can start working on the document that same day. If I happen to have another ongoing assignment, we will agree on a suitable delivery date together.

What about urgent translations?

In case of urgent translation, to reduce the delivery times, I can work during holidays, possibly involving some of my trusted colleagues. In this case, the standard rate will increase by 20%.

3. Revisions

Can you check the accuracy of a translated document?

Sure, I can proofread or revise your document against the source text to ensure it complies, or I can just review/adapt the final text to give it fluency and efficacy based on the target audience.

What are your rates for proofreading, revision and adaptation?

As per translation, proofreading, revision and adaptation costs are calculated per source word and can range between EUR 0.02 and 0.04 depending on the type of action to be taken, namely: correcting typos, grammar, style, reviewing content or adapting the content to the target language, culture etc…

4. Language consultancy

What are the services included in a language consultancy?

I can help you improve your listening, comprehension and speaking skills in Italian or English as a second language.

Customers requesting this type of support usually wish to feel more confident with the language prior to a public presentation, an interview or a conference call, a university exam or a business trip. Some have recently relocated to Italy from abroad, others are Italian citizens, who have instead moved to a foreign country where they need to express themselves fluently in English.

What are your rates for a language consultation?

My rates for a consultation are calculated on an hourly basis, taking into account the objectives to be achieved, the time available, the topics to be explored and the number of sessions required. My standard hourly rate is EUR 30.

5. Mentoring
